This anclent snake pit was (according to sketchy sources) used as a snake breeding pit by the ancient Wyrm Worshipers that lived in the area three centuries before the coming of the New Gods. These Wyrm Worshipers were not so foolish as to believe that the Dragons were good for mankind; rather, they wished to create a creature with the size and relative shape of a Dragon without the intelligence of one. In this way, they hoped to create a monster that would help them create and rule an empire without eventually trying to take over said empire. Thankfully, the Wyrm Worshipers were destroyed by a coalition of nervous nearby cities who would have been the first to fall. In a rare act of self-preservation, this coalition assembled an army that was more than enough to destroy the cult that was nesting so close to their own heartland.

Enter the Ancient Snake Pit (Active)[]
The Anclent Snake Pit appears to be unoccupied, but you can still hear the long-vanished snakes moving in the rocks - and as you enter into the shadows, their influence can still reach you. If you enter the PIt, you'll galn a Skill Step's worth of Courage and knowledge of Poisons- but you'll also be Poisoned yourself. The only way to escape the affliction without resting it off is to trust to your Luck and your Danger Sense (Roll v. 7), and to shine a light on the worst of the half-visible spirits just as you're bitten - if you succeed, you'll not only shrug off the ill effects, you'll gain a Step of Flawless Timing and skill with Negation Methods.
