These adventures are generally later additions to the game.  They are able to be completed in a single action instead of requiring several actions to complete, as long as the player is successful at each phase in the adventure - where a player fails at a phase they may be able to spend a second adventure action to continue the adventure from the phase they had reached.

Unlike other adventures therefore a single adventure action spent on a continuous adventure can lead to multiple skill-up's, relationship gains and usually an ability point making these adventures both very rewarding and somewhat of a leap of faith - whereas normally the colour of a normal adventure provides an indication of the chances of success, that only holds true for the first phase and as the later phases can have much harder tests the difficulty of a continuous adventure is something of a voyage of discovery.
