The oft ridiculed Culiman is descended from a great wizard (though many, many generations remove) named Culibratha, whose claim to fame was the 'gift' of Mastery. On his own Culiman has no known talent, save perhaps for the ability to talk about the exploits of his ancestor Culibratha. Culiman is a filthy man with no regard for his physical state who speaks no language other than Bassan. Perhaps this is why he is willing to part with some of his family's precious items...though he is not willing to part with any of his family's diaries yet.
