The act of deduction is the act of taking several logical statements and determining an outcome based on the progression of said statements. Put simply, if one were to say that "All birds are red" and "A canary is a bird," then one could deduce that a canary is red. Of course, canaries aren't red, but the deduced statement would be valid according to the original statements. As it applies to magic, the Deduction Pheme is quite useful in that is is simple to add into a spell or inscribe on an item and it gives a quick and painless boost to one's Sleuthing (and Trigonometry) Skill. Givent hat one may eventually wish to take a second look at certain Phemes, having a highly developed Sleuthing Skill (either naturally or magically) could come in very handy some day.
