Courtenay is most often seen wandering the campus with his face steadily placed in front of a book. Students say he is busily trying to find and decipher hidden codes in some of the school’s major texts. Whatever he’s doing, Courtenay is surprisingly unfettered by any of the astounding things that transpire on the campus. It doesn’t matter how amazing an event may be, it seems like he only cares about his books. In conversation, he makes many (often accurate) predictions and strives to solve every riddle that presents itself.

Because of his love of secret and written things, Courtenay enjoys bonuses to his Library Knowledge (+3), Cryptology (+3), and Logic (+2) Skills, although his Befriend Skill suffers just a bit (-1).
Courtenay may not be too interested in the things around him, but what he does find interesting doesn’t hold its secrets from him for long. His lifelong interest in all thing secret is bound to lead him somewhere where he doesn’t want to go; until then, though, he’s happy to leave the world around him for the world inside his books.

How he does it is truly one of life’s mysteries, yet Courtenay has somehow learned to predict professors’ moves like clockwork. It takes him a good deal of time to do it, yet Courtenay can actually tell when a professor is going to give a pop quiz and then accurately predict up to 80% of the questions beforehand! Unfortunately, Courtenay’s predictions are much like predicting the weather, which is to say that the closer the event is, the easier and more accurate his predictions are.
