Those who are just beginning to sail the great sailing vessels owned by the merchant-houses are commonly known as pages. This building, one of the few operated jointly by the great merchant-houses, was built to inspire pages to five more of themselves than they ever thought possible. This inspiration is achieved by hanging pictures of the most successful pages as they captain their own ships. Left off the walls, of course, are those pages who have tried and failed.
