What is there to say about History that has not already been said? History is the study of events that have occurred in the past, but only fools study the past for the sake of knowledge only. The intelligent men and women of academic society study history in order to learn from the good and bad done there and apply it to their own world. Those who never study the history of the time of Captivity will never fully understand the horror of beign under the claw of the Wyrm, and thusly are less inclined to defend the Wall when called upon to do so. Thos who ignore the violent invasion and counter invasion are likely to forget the decline that leads to invasion and do little to prevent it. Those who see and act upon the signs will survive and thrive; those who do not often find themselves under the boot.

Legacy of Many Towers

Dominant Attribute: Intelligence

[New skill as of DLC 2]

Named for Vernin, the creator-king and mastersmith of the Armies of Man, College Vernin was for many years the glory of the Academy of Mineta, welcoming students of noble houses and teaching them to build the wonders of their times. Vernin students and Regents fortified the Wall Against the Dragons, animated the Pleasure Island of the Imperial Redoubt, and built themselves glorious towers of magical glass and shining, polished stone. The glory days have faded now, but learning the lessons of those days of creation and craft can still inspire greatness.

Pride of a Rebel Queen

Dominant Attribute: Intelligence

[New skill as of DLC 4]

To most members of other Colleges, Avila is seen as something of a throwback. Astrology is a real tradition of magic, sure, but it's not modern and practical in way that Incantation and Revision are - and the whole "proper girls school" vibe that Professor Badcrumble encourages seems like the stuff of a whole different age.

The thing to know about College Avila, though, is that it stubbornly embraces its tradition and its sense of right and wrong - and in that it honors its namesake, the first great Queen of old who simply refused to bow to the tyranny of dragons. Avila never bows, and deep understanding of its Pride can inspire even students of other Colleges.

The Calamities

Dominant Attribute: Intelligence

The Calamities were a time of chaos during which the Empire essentially fell apart. They're officially considered to have begun with the destruction of Monteon, but the Empire was already lurching in that direction before the Event occurred. To this day, no one really knows what happened, and likely, no one ever will.

The Captivity of Man

Dominant Attribute: Intelligence

The age of the Captivity of Man began immediately after the oceans were lost and the great human armies were deceived into swearing terrible oaths of servitude to the nation of the dragons, and ended with the intervention of the New Gods. The Early Empire

Dominant Attribute: Intelligence

The Early Empire covers the time the descendants of the New Gods took in creating an Empire to the time when the Academagia was founded and beyond. Scholars don't have a particular yera in which the Early Empire ends and the Middle Empire begins. Point of fact, this is one of the favorite things scholars and historians like to argue over.

The Middle Empire

Dominant Attribute: Intelligence

The Middle Empire is generally defined as the time of the height of the Empire's power through the absolute decline of the Empire, culminating in the Calamities of Monteon. Had the Empire retained its full control, it is possible that the Calamities would not have happened, but many scholars dispute this idea. The edges of the Empire were never firm, and thus were never fully developed. This fact alone shows that the Empire was incapable of continued expansion, and thus dommed to eventual contraction and disolvement.

The Second Captivity

Dominant Attribute: Intelligence

The Second Captivity arguably marks the high point of Draconian influence of mankind, though those who were dominated by the Dragons at the time obviously did not feel that way. After the period of the Second Captvity, Dragons never again dominated the whole of mankind again. Indeed, the Second Captivity is really the story of the portion of mankind which was enslaved again, not the entireity, which in some historians' minds marks this period as the beginning of the decline of Draconian influence instead of the high point of it.
