The Bond between a wizard and his or her Familiar has qualities beyond affection or loyalty - though, no, those are certainly not to be disparaged. Still, though, this is different: magically bound, a human and magical creature can share senses and powers, and experiences that change them both at great distances, and any student sensitive enough to the flavor of that Bond can learn from it. Investigating a Magical Bond at this stage in your career will grant you a 1 Step Expansion to a random Enchant Subskill, as you learn supernatural ways in which people can interact with the natural world. It can also (5% chance) Expand a random Attribute in your Familiar, as the magic you share is amplified.
