Familiar: Arsaces the Alefsan Porphyrian Snake
Malthezar is a tall, gangly, dark-skinned Alesfan boy. Sticking to traditional grooming practices, he keeps his long hair wrapped tight in a bun on top of his head. He carries himself proudly, which is easy, considering that he stands a head taller than most of his peers. Quick to defend his name and his heritage, Malthezar’s talent is outstripped by his tongue, which causes more problems than it fixes. He’s always getting into fights. It’s not even like people are suspicious about his nationality or anything, really. He’s just overprotective of his heritage.
Malthezar knows that many are depending on him on acting as an ambassador of his nation in Elumia. He wonders at the great disunity in the Empire, and whether or no they will truly be able to help Alesfa. He wishes there was a way for him to discover some new magic, or unearth some ancient relic, that he could bear home in triumph. However, he is also disciplined enough to know that his is a long road.
Ability: Unofficial Ambassador
Malthezar’s position as unofficial ambassador from Alesfa has given him insight into the skills of Temperance (+2), Listen (+2), Research (+1), and Innuendo (+1). Difficult as it sometimes is for Malthezar to understand the strange new world he finds himself thrust into, he was well trained before leaving his motherland of Alesfa. Few if any know of his desire to research new spells and of his interest in all artifacts that predate the Cataclysm, but that’s probably because few people take the time to get to know Malthezar as a person instead of a "position."
Having someone as interesting and exotic as Malthezar in one’s clique is quite rewarding; in specific, it increases one’s Anthropology (+2), Cartography (+2), Storytelling (+3), and Diction (+1) Skills.
