Familiar: Boo the Northern Dreaming Spider

Oriabel is totally enthralled by the concept of ghosts. How could anyone not find them fascinating? She, as a result, has spent long hours puzzling over natural philosophy as it applies to ghosts, ghost composition, psychology, and on and on. With the notes she’s jotted down she plans on one day creating the definitive text on ghosts. It’s just too bad she’s never actually seen one, but she’s heard stories...

It’s true that Oriabel has never actually seen a ghost, but her Dad used to tell her stories about them all the time and he’s a guard at the old Imperial Palace. They don’t let people who make things up do important jobs like that, so she has always believed her father. His stories were obviously meant to keep her from visiting the Palace, but she went a few times anyway and knew enough about it to tell exactly where her father was describing. It does frighten her that children have supposed disappeared in there, but who is to say something bad happened to them in the end?

Oriabel’s belief in ghosts has led her to many interesting places; during these explorations and examinations, she has picked up better understanding of her Perception (+2), Hide (+1) and Archaeology (+1) Subskills, as well as greater abilities in her Insight (+1) attribute.
