Performing a musical piece on your Lyre can have a number of effects, depending on the quality of your performance - you might gain cash and Expansions to a couple of Relationships, you might impress a professor enough to bring Merit to your college and you might even earn personal Glory. Note that the school provides you with very basic instruments to use as needed: you don't have to supply your own.
