Description[]
The Second Perspective action allows one to substitute (upon making a very difficult Intelligence/Dialectic Roll vs 19) one's Sleuthing Skill for a Subskill of one's choice for a single day.
Becoming fixated on one way of doing things is a definite danger in the real world; the skills one learns by studying Dialectic helps one break out of their static mindset and into one that allows for more fluidity. The Second Perspective action allows one to substitute a skill that requires absolute thought for a skill that may or may not require any type of thought. The reason for this actually working is simple; by exploring a previously-unthought-of line of thinking, one may actually find a better solution. Stuck on one side of a chasm and don’t think you can jump? A Second Perspective on the situation may show you a way around the chasm instead of jumping. Can’t find a book in the library you have to have for your friend? A Second Perspective may help you to find someone who knows where the book is without having to ask a librarian.
