The difference between Society and Heraldry is the difference between a dream and a fantasy, which is to say that one is not quite real while the other is not quite fake. Society is the skill of surviving in real societal encounters, whereas Heraldry is mostly fluff and stuffing. Those who study Society will better understand things like Willpower and Persuasion. Those who wish to make their opinions known among the movers and shaker of the world had best begin their studies of Society at an early age, lest they fall too far behind.

Contrary to the thought of youth, Awareness has little if anything to do with being aware of your surroundings in regards to nature or exploration; on the contrary, the Awareness Skill is all about understanding one’s social surroundings. Knowing who is allied with whom can be extremely important when making dicey business deals; equally important is knowing who belongs to which clique before asking for outrageous favors that could never be granted. Being aware of who is around you and why is important not just for your own sake, but for that of your friends as well. Any clique that has a person with a high Awareness Skill can count on opening social doors that would otherwise have remained locked, if not downright invisible.

Dominant Attribute: Insight

There are many ways to get a person to do something that they would not normally wish to do, such as intimidation, bully, blackmail, plead, and persuade.  This Skill makes use of one's ability to push someone without threatening them and to demand something of someone without making them feel angered.  Persuasion requires insight and thoughtfulness more than charm and strength, so only those who feel they are more insightful than the average student need bother putting time into this Skill.

Willpower is usually (and correctly) defined as the ability to resist the imposition of another's will onto one's self.
