The "Steady On" spell Increases its target's Fitness, Courage and Instinct by 2 points each for an entire week. At the same time, though, it has a way of clouding thinking, resulting in a 1 point Decrease to Intelligence.
The spell dates to a long, bloody and largely unnecessary series of wars in Balesfield around three centuries back. Some argue the particular mix of courage and dulled abstract thinking it encouraged made things even worse than poor generalship and brutal rules of engagement would otherwise have ensured.
Still, it has it's uses.
