Everyone knows the story of the famed athlete simply called Nechtan. He was a master of all competitive arts, a wrestling, running, and archery champion. He could dive to the deepest ocean depths. He could climb the highest peaks. Nechtan gave his life when the dragons first attacked. Someone needed to alert the Sages at Anarta, who, through their powerful magic, could send messages to all of the world's leaders. However, the Sages sactuary was hidden in a far valley, past an active volcano and a raging sea. Only Nechtan was strong enough to make the journey. He did so willingly, his body bruised and battered by the time he reached the Sages. But he did deliver the message of the dragons' attack.
In honor of his heroic journey and death, the Sages commemorated the Well of Nechtan in his Ligian hometown. The well is imbued with just a flicker of his prowess.
